The Petzl Swift RL is an ultra-powerful, compact, multi-beam headlamp with Reactive Lighting technology packing a colossal 900 lumens.
Weighing only 100g, the Petzl Swift RL is controllable via one lockable button on the top of the torch, making it simple to use and ensuring no accidental wastage of battery whilst in transport. The Reactive Lighting found in the Petzl Swift RL head torch was first featured in the Petzl Nao, shortly followed by the Petzl Reactik series, and has seen battery lives increase massively due to the multiple light beam patterns available. Petzl have now discontinued the Reactik series and replaced it with the Swift RL, which features the same technology that the Reactik series had, in a lighter and more compact package.
With REACTIVE LIGHTING technology, a sensor assesses the ambient light and automatically adjusts the brightness to user requirements. The headband is reflective for night visibility. Rechargeable, it has a five-level gauge for precise monitoring of the battery charge level and a two-part construction for excellent stability in dynamic and committing activities such as mountaineering, trail running or skiing.

Moved from an entry petal to this. Night and day illumination. It's amazing, honestly. Used it tonight round Arthur's seat in Edinburgh with friends, top class! Unsure on battery life yet but so far so good.
Sadly very short burn time but awesome for a wee jog in the winter evenings 1 -2 hours.
Best lamp I have ever owned (and I’ve had some good lamps over the years). Unbelievable that you can get this much performance from such a small unit. I was unsure about the reactive lighting but after using the swift I’m completely converted, it’s so seamless when switching from near to far vision that I actually forget that it is changing brightness. and in the rare instances that it didn’t work (in thick fog) you can override it easily. In my experience the most important thing with any headlamp is the beam pattern and the spread of light on this lamp is also superb. The beam fills your entire vision with a uniform white light whilst the reactive lighting gives you the right amount of light all the time. Just switch it on and forget! Battery seems good too, if staying mostly on the lower setting It’ll work all night. And spare batteries are available too if you feel you need them. Top marks to Petzl!
