The Scarpa Vapour V Womens mark 2 is a revised version of this very popular womens climbing shoe. It features a slightly thinner two piece Vibram XS Edge outsole and heel cup - 3.5mm rather than the previous 4mm - for improved sensitivity and fit, whilst an extension to the toe rand rubber creates a useful toe-hooking/protective patch above the knuckles of the toes. The general aesthetics have also been updated to bring the Vapour V in line with other recent additions to the Scarpa range, such as the Booster S.
In spite of its alterations this popular shoe retains the same fit and midsole rigidity, making it a sleek and versatile Velcro shoe which can provide a performance or more comfort orientated fit depending on how it is sized.
Utilising an asymmetric and marginally down-turned last shape, synthetic upper, relatively supportive midsole and 3.5mm Vibram XS Edge sole unit, the Scarpa Vapour (or Vapor as it says on the shoe itself) is Scarpa's premium all-rounder. This womens specific version comes with a slightly narrower heel an dlower volume toe box.
The Vapour V is lovingly constructed from a two piece microsude (synthetic) upper. Unlined for maximum sensitivity and with a comfy mesh padded tongue, the Vapour feels great out of the box. The shoe's last gives the now familiar Scarpa performance fit of a higher volume toe box and lower volume mid and rear section, incorporating a profile hugging arch and slightly bulbous, yet well fitting heel.
As with all the modern performance Scarpa's, the Vapour V provides reliably similar sizing - i.e. if you are a 42 in the Vapour Lace, Instinct Lace/Slipper, Boostic etc. you should be a 42 in the Vapour V.
