Scarpa Booster

Size: EU 38

The third generation of the classic Scarpa Booster takes the model to a new level. Utilising tech from the revolutionary Furia Air, this Booster is adaptable, super sensitive, and offers perhaps the most precision of any shoe in the Scarpa range.

An asymmetrical, downturned last combines with a new stiffer (relatively speaking) midsole and one-third length Vibram® XS Grips 2 outsole to provide a form-fitting shoe that allows adaptable movement through steep ground, while still offering a stable supportive platform on less steep routes. The DTS (Differentiated Tension System) rand enhances powerful movements through dynamic sequences by concentrating the strength of the foot through an asymmetrical support ribbon; driving energy to the forefoot. Finally, the PAF heel system partners perfectly with the DTS to help reduce over-compression of the toes and focussed pressure on the Achilles.

Sizing

The Booster provides a slightly smaller fit when compared to some more established Scarpa's - i.e. if you are a 42 in the Vapour Lace, Instinct series, Boostic etc. you'll probably need a 42.5 in the Booster.

Not my favourite shoes I have bought. They are quite slippery and easily come off of holds when climbing.

      Bad Heel

Let me preface this by saying I'm a huge fan of scarpa shoes, my last 6 pairs have been dragons, but their heels have always been a bit baggy and just not very precise. They've taken it to a new level on these boosters by including the heel tension rubber, all this does is provide a shelf down the centre of your heel and reduces the surface area of it.

Which is a huge shame as the toe box, toe hook rubber and dual velcro strap are all seriously good, but disappointingly let down by one of the worst heels I've used. Back to the dragos for me
