Climbing nut keys, also called nut tools, are thin tools with a hooked end, used by a second in traditional outdoor climbing for removing gear (nuts/hexes/cams) on a climbing route, usually from cracks in the rock. They are particularly useful when the gear is jammed and can save you having to leave it on the route for someone else to claim as crag swag!
