Scarpa Instinct VS Womens

Size: EU 35

The Scarpa Instinct VS Women's is a technical, performance climbing shoe aimed at high level female trad climbers, boulderers and sport climbers.

Subtlety blending the characteristics of the Slipper and Lace-Up versions, the Scarpa Instinct VS Womens is a superb, female specific technical shoe. Built on a lower volume last to suit those with narrower feet, this women's version features the same Micro-Suede upper used on the Instinct SR which provides great flexibility and ensures that the shoes hold their shape longer than leather equivalents. The upper is built around the down-turned toe last of the Instinct family ensuring precise toe placements with high levels of feedback.

Vibram XS-Grip 2 ensures that your feet will stay planted on the smallest of edges and stiffens up the toe increasing responsiveness. Bi-Tension technology intimately connects the toe and the heel of the boot helping to increase overall performance which is guaranteed to last. A 2mm, hand-crafted Vibram XS Grip 2 heel combined with velcro straps keep the heel of the shoe firmly secured to your foot even on the most demanding heel-hooks with the new toe rand design providing durable performance on toe-hooks.

Runs a half size smaller than many other Scarpas!

Went a full size down from my street shoe size because that's reasonably fitted but comfortable for most Scarpas I've tried, and accidentally got myself a pro-tight fit. Guy from the gym who climbs hard convinced me not to send them back but to be patient breaking them in -- once broken in, they will be perfect he thought -- guess it's a push to get better at climbing! The shoe seems awesome, feels a bit stiff, robust, downturned, should be able to handle some abuse. Starting from the bandage fit straight out of the box, I'm optimistic that the heel will stay good and snug instead of getting floppy and loose after a couple weeks (as has happened with every other climbing shoe I've ever worn, drives me nuts when heel hooking). If you're looking for a compromise between performance and comfort though, go a half-size down not a full size!!

Fab customer service

Great service from rock and run who exchanged these a number of times while I tried to get the right fit. Unfortunately they just weren’t the right shoe for me but I had no problems exchanging and returning.

Snug fit

Snug fit needed a size bigger than my usual climbing shoe, enables precise footwork. For me it’s not a shoe for long days of climbing but short bursts of climbing. Responsive and friendly service provided by RockRun. Thank you.
