I bought these to replace two aged and battered Grivel z-poles, and my evaluation is based on comparison with them. I would not go back to any other style of pole for day-to-day use: there is no risk of the joint slipping, and there is less windage than with an external clip. But you do need to be sure that your chosen length suits you. These are mainly for walking in the Lake District, and I won't be in serious trouble if one breaks. They are not beefy enough for alpine or expedition use. Better than the Grivel: very light and easy to stow. Less good than the Grivel: the foam handle doesn't run so far down the stick, so you can't grasp them lower down when traversing a slope. Hence only 4*.
Very quick delivery, smooth shopping experience. Love my new poles. Lightweight and sturdy, exactly what I needed
Lightweight and well balanced. Gave them a hard time in the highlands recently over a few days and they seem robust enough
Very prompt delivery.
