Streamlined with functionality to boot, the Deuter Guide Lite 24 is a true alpinist pack. The Guide Lite features the back system of the same name, a Delrin U-frame provides both stability and flex for the approach to the serac. For climbers, it’s vital for packs to fit close to the body for stability, through stripping unnecessary padding in favour of ventilated AirMesh, the Guide contours to your spine whilst still providing breathability.
S-Cut shoulder straps with a wide base allow for freedom of movement when climbing. An adjustable hip belt can be adjusted to your anatomically unique waist, allowing for comfortable weight transfer on approaches with medium loads.
As a true mountaineering pack, the Guide Lite has a range of climbing specific features. Ice axes can be attached to the backpack whilst fixing loops provide a place to attach Deuter's helmet holder (not included).
The Guide range from Deuter is specifically designed for mountaineering, consequently, they have a streamlined design with flattened straps to minimise snagging whilst on a rock face. Constructed entirely from tightly woven 100D PA Nylon Ripstop for high abrasion resistance, the pack can stand up to the worst of mountain environments.
High-performance materials with PFC-free dirt- and water-repellent impregination:
To ensure the water and dirt repellent properties, we use a Durable Water Repellency (DWR) coating that is safe for health and environmentally friendly and completely PFC-free. This special surface treatment causes water to roll off the outside of the textiles. This keeps the material dry and nature clean.

Very good. I used it for a 2 night snow hole expedition in the Cairngorms. It is a very light bag for its size and capacity. I found it comfortable to carry and the floating lid meant it was flexible depending on the load carried.
