The Petzl Reverso is an ultra-light (57g) manual belay device offering guide mode belaying options and braking friction regulation for optimal stopping power.
Multi-purpose and versatile the Petzl Reverso is now even easier to handle and very intuitive to use. ARC Technology offers V-shaped friction channels with asymmetrical lateral grooves, and this adapts the friction to the type of rope allowing for better control with all types of ropes. Windows have been created in the sides by removing some aluminium, massively reducing the weight of the device. The guide mode can be used for belaying one or two seconds and also enables quick transition when swopping leads from Reverso mode to belaying the leader.
Check out the Petzl video below on how to belay correctly using the Reverso:
Multipurpose and easy to use:
Classic belay technique with both hands on the rope
Ropes glide smoothly through the device
Can be used for rappels
Reverso mode for belaying one or two seconds; commonly used on multi-pitch climbs
Independent and simultaneous belaying of two seconds in Reverso mode
While belaying in Reverso mode, a carabiner placed in the release hole allows the belayer to give slack when the device is under tension
Rope installation diagrams for belaying and Reverso mode are engraved on the device
