This two-volume guidebook provides detailed coverage of the classic 12km Cuillin Ridge traverse on the Isle of Skye and covers everything needed to prepare for and complete the ridge successfully.
Showcasing the main traverse and the other classic scrambles in the area, both volumes feature official Harvey mapping, numbered topos and corresponding detailed route description. The Ridge can be apparently by completed in one or two days, though some would say it is better to take three days and not be in a rush.
The first volume provides advice about which approach to choose, as well as a list of bivi sites on the Ridge. It also has notes on training, gear and logistics, alongside 10 classic scrambles that can be used as practice routes for the traverse of the whole ridge. This volume also includes in-depth route description and advice for completing the Cuillin Ridge traverse in winter.
The second volume focuses on the traverse itself and is the perfect booklet to carry while attempting to complete this renowned climb. In ten sections, it explains step by step how to tackle the Ridge, as well as providing easier alternatives (the so called Cuillin Ridge Light) so as to miss out the harder climbing sections. Unlike most other guides, this one includes sufficient Harvey mapping in good enough detail that a separate map is not required.

Fantastic guidebook, helped me greatly in a two day traverse last month. Without it, it would have probably taken me a week.
Route finding is notoriously difficult on the ridge and the guidebook helped hugely. Adrian Trendall writes the descriptions with great detail and the Harvey maps in the guidebook are very clear.
Small enough to carry in my chest pocket to quickly get out when needing it.
100% would recommend.
