The Edelrid Mega Jul is a durable and versatile, stainless steel belay device, with an auto-locking capability that makes it suitable for all types of climbing.
Combining features from a number of other belay devices, the Edelrid Mega Jul offers one fairly unique package. The 2-rope capacity, low weight and guide mode will make it of interest to trad climbers, whilst the auto-locking function both reduces the chance of a belayer dropping a leader in the event of a fall and makes it easier to lock off a leader if they are working (or dogging!) a route will appeal to sport and wall climbers. An auto-locking, guide mode belay device!
Because the Mega Jul offers a number of different and unique features, it is well worth watching the product video which gives a pretty comprehensive run-down of the different operations.

Gives me confidence to fall even when I outweigh my belayer by 20kg. No moving parts to fail, and allows for a slow gradual creep if the belayer is not holding the tail rope. NB fat furry ropes don't feed very cleanly through this, but that's only a problem for top-roping indoors.
Does what it says on the tin. Easy to use, nice and lightweight.
Quick delivery, great product. Thanks!
Nice product, takes a bit of getting used to.
excellent device. I have used it for trad (half-ropes), and sports climbing both indoors and outdoors. I would not go back to an ATC. It is especially good if you climb with someone fairly heavy who has a propensity to hang on the rope for considerable pe
