The Scarpa Maestro Alpine is a trad climbing shoe, designed to perform in an alpine environment at low temperatures (winter conditions).
Offering a high thermic insulation grade thanks to an additional internal layer and a thermic sock, the Scarpa Maestro Alpine also has a leather upper that rides up higher on the foot for extra protection. It offers stability for standing on small edges and yet has enough flex for smearing, and has a straight and slightly downturned shape with a medium-to-low angled toe box. The chassis boasts all the attributes of the Maestro mid, with the addition of an insulating lining and sock fit gaiter for warmth and protection.
With the ability to stand on small edges but with enough flex for smearing, the Scarpa Maestro Mid Alpine has many refined layers of technology. The versatile and revolutionary last offers a straight and slightly downturned shape with a medium-to-low angled toe box, allowing it to be fitted to either a semi knuckled-up or flatter toe position, depending on what you're after. The Maestro Alpine has a full-length plastic insert gives integral support to the foot whilst under pressure on small holds. This also maintains flex for smearing as the combination lace system spreads pressure evenly across the forefoot.
This unique product, developed in conjunction with Leo Houlding for an expedition to Antartica, is suited to those pushing the boundaries of big Patagonian walls and alpine faces in cold conditions.
