Grivel Haute Route EVO Crampons

The Grivel Haute Route Evo crampons are classic 10 point crampons specifically designed for ski touring with the design and bindings capable of fitting to modern ski touring boots.

The rest of the crampon is pretty standard, great for walking across terrain that isn't skiable and the front points are angled enough for support on that little bit of steep ground.

The front section is steel for strength and durability, whereas the back section is an aluminium alloy to keep the overall weight down and both sections have a proactive anti-balling plate which helps keeps snow buildup to a minimum, by popping out the snow whilst you walk.

The webbing and bindings on the Haute Route EVO have been improved over the previous generation, now using 12mm webbing compared to 14mm. The buckle has been improved and is now easier to tighten and loosen, the extra webbing now fastens in towards the boot and wraps around the front of the ankle and can be tucked into the back. The step-in bindings have also been improved and simplified with a clip in height adjuster rather than the old dial. These step-in bindings are now lighter, stronger and easier to adjust.

The Haute Route is a famous ski tour which makes for a great name for the Grivel Haute Route EVO crampon. It is an ideal example of the types of trips this crampon has been designed for.
